It is the second highest Rocca di Frassinello label, bidding to reach the maximum level of the first. A wine of great substance, in which Sangiovese and the international grape varieties of Cabernet and Merlot fuse for an ideal Italian-French creation. It has already been chosen as one of Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines.
Smell and taste: With a broad bouquet of red fruits. It has great substance in the mouth, with soft and round tannins and a long and enveloping finish.
Serving suggestions: It pairs well with full-flavored pasta and rice dishes, and game such as deer, wild boar, hare. Also recommended with birds such as wild duck.
Serve at: 18-20° C
Drinking window: Drink from 2021.
About Rocca di Frassinello:.Rocca di Frassinello lies on the right hillside heading north that forms on either side of the old Aurelia road and which, thanks to the first major Roman road, forms a sort of canyon through which the sea wind blowing from the plain between Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto travels across. This constant breeze takes away any moisture from the air and provides for an even milder climate, both during the winter and summer months. Rocca di Frassinello chose Renzo Piano to build probably the most famous wine cellars in the world: the barrel room set in a central underground position, making it possible to naturally maintain a stable humidity and temperature. An imposing 40 by 40 square metre space.
